FIBERTOWN Data Centers Remain 100% Operational During Houston Flood Event

Houston, Texas – April 19, 2016 – Despite widespread flooding in the Houston area,  FIBERTOWN’s data centers and disaster recovery office spaces remain fully operational according to Vice President of Operations Joe Langston. “Despite 11+ inches of rain in the Greenspoint area of Houston, our colocation data center and disaster recovery offices remain dry and secure, with extra staff on hand to provide on-site hands and eyes for our clients.”

FIBERTOWN’s Houston Network Operations Center continues to conduct inspections of our facility and surrounding area. There have been no network or utility interruptions at our facilities. “We’ve remained fully staffed and have facilitated a number of on-site hands and eyes requests for customers who could not access the datacenter from their homes or businesses,” says Jacob Bertling, director of operations for FIBERTOWN Houston.

FIBERTOWN’s Bryan, TX data centers and disaster recovery offices are also 100% operational. “We activated our business continuity campus early yesterday in anticipation of Houston clients staging disaster recovery and business continuity operations in their dedicated office space during this ongoing event,” according to Joe Langston, vice president of operations. “Our buildings and network infrastructure have performed well during this event and we anticipate no problems for our clients.”

Perryman says that FIBERTOWN will remain on a heightened state of alert until the flooding danger passes. “We’ll continue to monitor the situation through the National Weather Service and Harris County Emergency Operations Center, as well as our own network operations centers and the Combined Emergency Operations Center located in our facility in Bryan. We’ve also scheduled an after-action meeting to review our procedures and prepare for the next event.”
